Thank you so much…had been using this really convoluted method involving launching the MMC first that took 10 steps or so. This is way simpler and faster. You've saved me untold hours of click click browse. NICE
Hi Richard,
Thank you soooo much for this help. I have been trying to implemet WSUS and the group policy from the AD does not work when automatic updates are configured. I scratched my head and could not find a solution to this. So I tested one machine by configuing local group policy. it worked. Therefore I wanted to change the local group policy of each PC by NOT going to each one. And here is exactly where your help was of use. Thanks a ton. Keep up the good work.
Thanks Man
You are the man…saved my ars tonight.
Nice one. Thanks. However, I cannot access my remote pc’s Group Policy. Here are my steps to initialize remote GP. From mmc console, I added Group Policy Object and Group Policy Wizard popped. I’ve chosen not Local Computer but remote pc “MyOtherComputer” and clicked finish. An error shows “You do not have permission to perform this operation.” “Access is Denied.”
I appreciate to anyone who can help me get pass this block.
Make sure you have administrative privileges on the remote host. Let me know if that helps or not.
