I want to open the group policies which I have applied in Windows server 2003, in windows XP proffesional. When I typed "gpedit /gpcomputer: servercomputername" it opened the group policies but it had no SERVER 2003 options.
Please guide me.
I will be very thankful to you.
Waiting for your response...

@Mohammed, the example I provided edits a local policy on a machine. If you are using active directory to push out updates then I would recommend editing policies on a domain controller so that the updates are pushed to all of the clients.

Thank you so much...had been using this really convoluted method involving launching the MMC first that took 10 steps or so. This is way simpler and faster. You've saved me untold hours of click click browse. NICE :)

Hi Richard,

Thank you soooo much for this help. I have been trying to implemet WSUS and the group policy from the AD does not work when automatic updates are configured. I scratched my head and could not find a solution to this. So I tested one machine by configuing local group policy. it worked. Therefore I wanted to change the local group policy of each PC by NOT going to each one. And here is exactly where your help was of use. Thanks a ton. Keep up the good work.
